Diploma OF Business & SPORT

Kick-off your career in sport with the Melbourne City Institute of Sport & Business.


In partnership with Federation University, our 12-month Diploma of Business & Sport combines theory and hands-on industry training in the elite environment of Melbourne City FC’s state-of-the-art facility, the City Football Academy, Melbourne - ctrl:cyber Campus.

Gain the skills and knowledge to manage people, build networks, and lead teams in sport. This program equips you with the business acumen and industry insights needed to thrive in a dynamic sports career.

Fast-track pathway to a university degree

In addition to obtaining the Diploma qualification, students who successfully complete the program are automatically awarded a full year of academic credit toward multiple Federation University articulation pathways, including a Bachelor of Business, allowing you to continue seamlessly into a second year if you choose to pursue further study.

From management principles and marketing to sports event planning and athlete development, each subject is tailored to prepare you for a dynamic career in sports.

BUSINESS SUBJECTS

  • Explore the core principles of management and gain practical skills in planning, organising, leading, and controlling to navigate real-world business challenges.

  • Learn to harness creativity and innovative problem-solving to identify new opportunities and revolutionise traditional thinking in today’s dynamic industries.

  • Build your professional identity with a focus on self-awareness, professionalism, and workplace dynamics to navigate and excel in your career.

  • Dive into modern and traditional leadership models and tackle real-world issues in ethics, technology, and strategy to foster effective, sustainable organisational cultures.
